Purple & Plaid

Although it might not seem like it at first glance, there is a way to dress up a flannel plaid shirt. Today's look is the perfect example. I chose a purple sheath dress, as it picks up on one of the colours in the plaid. I decided to layer the shirt over the dress, leave it unbuttoned and belt it at the waist. I styled the shirt in the same way I would a structured blazer, but because the shirt is a looser fit, it gives the look a more relaxed feel, without being overly casual.
